Are Critterware willow branch balls safe for gerbils? I got one at the pet store and then noticed that the package lists rabbits, chinchillas and other small pets but not hamsters or gerbils. Thanks

I gave my boys one and it lasted approximately 20 minutes so... safe, yes, but probably not a wise repeat investment.

Thanks. Most store bought items don't last long, so I usually use a lot of cardboard but every now and then I see something I can't resist.

I've given our gerb's these willow balls a couple of times and they love them.
Both times, the balls sat mostly untouched for a couple days, and then suddenly overnight it's completely disappeared. lol
The ones I've bought have had a small block of some kind of wood inside... any idea what that is? Is it just to make it rattle when moved?

I think it's a walnut or something similar, mothman.

The ones I've bought (not Critterware) definitely don't contain a nut. It's a small square of some kind of wood.
I never really thought about it until reading this thread, and I don't know what is is, or what it's for. lol I assume (hope!) it's gerbil-safe, whatever it is.

The ball lasted under two hours, but they did seem to enjoy it. But, it certainly wasn't worth the price so I won't be getting it again.
Oh well.

Haha. Think of it as an early Christmas present for them.
