isnt ornacycline an antibiotic? with antibiotics its important to treat for a period of time. they mask the illness while fighting the bacteria which means if you stop taking them too early the bacteria will come back. Hence when your doctor or dentist gives you antibiotics you are always told to complete the course. the worst thing about stopping early though, is that bacteria are very adaptive, they mutate form very quickly and this enables them to build up resistance to aintbiotics. Byt stopping the course early you risk encouraging the development of resistant strains and it becomes less likely that the antibiotic will work in the future.

Ornacycline is indeed an antibiotic! So you need to be careful with this medicine, always using for a certain period! The description will tell you how long or better the vet. Using it too short can indeed cause resistant bacteria, like doomgerbiluk told!

I called and asked THREE vets about it, and NONE of them had any idea of how I should mix it, or dilute it, or how much to give them (Had to use an eye dropper). ONE vet looked it up for me, but none of them had ever used it, or really knew anything about it.
