I'm worried that one of my gerbils is sick. He sleeps most of the time and never seems to have much energy. He never opens his eyes more than half way, and his eyes have a thin film covering them. He's been this way for a week, but the other two haven't caught it. I moved them to a new tank, but I added nothing new to it. I use chlorophyll bedding. Any ideas?

I know your problem. He needs to see a vet NOW. My gerbil almost died from those same symptoms but I got her on antibiotics quick enough and now she is fine. So, you need to get to the vet fast!

When a gerbil is not lively anymore, and fur, eyes, etc are not normal than most of the times something is wrong! I would also recommend you to see a vet.

I agree that a vet is what the little guy needs. Half opened eyes, sleepy, lethargic are all symptoms of pain.
Please keep us posted!
