*Sigh* What is up with petstores and treating their animals correctly? I was in North Carolina on vacation for Spring Break. While we were there, we went to the local petstore for fun. They had all kinds of animals, including the largest snake in NC! They also had an alligator, bunnies, ferrets, and birds. And last but not least: hamsters and 2 gerbils. I looked at them for a minute, checking their health, seeing if they were OK. The gerbils had oily fur but they were active and playing with each other so I assumed they were fine. Then I looked at the water bottles for the gerbs and hammies. Dry. So I went up to the front desk and notified them about the water issue and they took care of it right away. ;D

Ryan,
I am proud of you . It took a lot for you to go and inform them that the bottle was dry!! I am so glad you took the steps to make sure that the gerbils had a healthy environment.
I hope others will speak up as you did! Thank you for sharing your experience. I am glad to hear the pet store people where open to your feedback. ;D

Thanks sweetie. ;D I think governments should have a department for the correct treatment of animals in petstores! Maybe regulations and inspections should be regular? That would almost eliminate all animal abuse in major petstores!

I agree that it should be one agency that handles that issue directly. Now I think that too many agencies have a little to do with each aspect of pet stores. You have some great ideas Ryan.
