hi so I've posted on here before last month where my one gerbil had little red mucus and crust on his nose and he lost some hair as well, but it wasn't an allergy. I'm thinking it was more of facial eczema because I've heard it is quote common and he had all of the symptoms. but now both of my gerbils are losing little tiny patches of fur around their nose? ? could this be facial eczema as well? there is no red mucus this time and they are acting completely normal

Do you have a cage with bars? It could be that your gerbils are chewing them and rubbing their nose fur off. If possible, could you put a picture?

To me that looks like it might be from bar chewing. At least one of my gerbils lost his fur around that area when he was able to chew the bars. There's a chance that they chew the bars more often than what you see them doing. I would recommend covering the bars with something (you could temporarily attach cardboard, etc, on them), and see do they start to get their fur back. However, if you are more concerned about them bar chewing (as it can damage their teeth), you could attach wire mesh with cable ties on the outside of the tank topper. That's what I have done with my topper, and it has stopped my gerbil chewing the bars.
