If I were to replace my 6.5 inch silent spinner with a metal wheel, I would get this one too- no metal bar to injure legs and tails. I would probably ditch the base and attach it directly to my topper. I've found that most wheels make noise because the base vibrates or clunks around.
Are you going to get the 7 inch or 9 inch? The 7 will be fine for adult females, but the 9 inch would be a bit more comfortable for adult males.

Yeah I looked at that wheel at one point too. But I'm a sucker for reviews, and it got bad reviews on Amazon so I decided against it. However, I think someone on here has one of those and I think that person liked this wheel. I just couldn't get past the fact that amazon gave it bad reviews. Amazon reviews I know it's ONLY three people. But I have a problem with putting too much faith in reviews. Oh but there are more reviews on the petco website if you want to look at them Petco wheel

I will never use a wheel with any sort of holes in. Too much risk of toes getting trapped for my liking. Also I've noticed that with gerbils that run an awful lot that in wheels that are big enough for their body their tails arch and can get damaged by the wheel constantly rubbing on them. I took the wheel out of my cage after one of my females lost too much weight and another female suddenly had a kink in her tail and bald spots but no wounds. After the wheel was gone the first one put weight back on and the other still had a kink but the fur slowly grew back. Now I use either a 12" flying saucer or a 12" silent spinner in the playpen as I didn't make the topper tall enough for such a large wheel.
