Tonight my gerbil, Nibbles seems EXTREMELY lethargic and when I put him out on the floor he just curled up next to me and fell asleep. He keeps going into like convulsions or something. All of a sudden, his arms or legs get stiff and he can't walk right. I think he's going to die tonight. He has food and ate a little bit of apple. I think he's still less than a year old. Oh no. And Nibbles was so young. I'm so sorry to hear that. Sorry also for not responding sooner. Maybe we could have helped. It's so sad losing a loved one, even if it's not a human. Makes me realize more how sad I'll be when a member of my family or friend dies...
We should all be thankful.
-You never know how much you love someone until you lose it.

So sorry Jeremiah ,it sounds as if Nibbles was suffering with fits of some sort.Some gerbils do have seizures/fits,but they are not usually so bad that the gerbil dies. R.I.P. NIBBLESLyd |

Jeremiah, I am so sorry to hear about Nibbles (I have tears in my eyes as I type this). I understand how awful it is to deal with a death of a living being that we love. You gave Nibbles a great life that he had, not many are as lucky. When nature takes over there is not much we can do - but you were a good owner to Nibbles and during his short life you made it wonderful.
