First of, sorry for my bad spelling. I'm not very good in english writing. I'm realy worries about mij gerbil. We had 2 sisters, but half a year ago one of them died. No we have one left. She is about 3 years old. But now every time I clean up the tank in a day or 2 it's smelly again. I see droppings all over the place and today I saw her pee on the glass floor. I've never see her do that. I put a bow in it, so she would have a sort of little house, or she could walk over it. And it is in that. So is she making a toillet? Or is there a serious problem? (Because there are dropping everywere to) Can anywone help me? Thank you for trying to help me!

My girls pee in a glass cup that I give them. They don't usually poo in it very much, but they always pee, and it has to be washed nearly every day, I wouldn't be worried about it.

Hi! That seems pretty normal for a gerbil. I suggest you use a more absorbent bedding or mix in some with whatever you currently use. I recommend recycled paper kitty litter products as excellent for increasing the absorbtion of your current bedding, just throw in a cupful or two and mix it in. Make your bedding quite deep in the tank, the deeper the better! That way you won't have to clean so often. She'll enjoy digging in it, too.

I agree, a more absorbent bedding and a think layer, could be the soluation! Mar, the droppings are fine and dry?
