heeeeelp,
dangermouses nail/claw seems to have come off when she was exploring a new tube, trying to wipe with some salt solution but is there any thing else we should do?
she is running around but a bit worried as we are going away for a few days on wedneasday
write back asap

the bleeding has stopped and i dabbed it with some salt water soulution-it doesnt look to bad now,
i jst feel so bad as i should have checked the new tubes out-one had a small split in it and she caught her nail!
shes running about doing gerbil things but she has 2 new born pups to look after !
i hope shel be okay?
is loosing a nail a majour thing as shes a wee small thing?-its the toe one her right foot-the smallest toe
ah i feel so bad-and shes my favourite gerbil ever

Don't feel bad, it happens to the best of us! My little chihuahua chewed one of hers off for god only knows what reason... The nail should grow back in time. My advice would be to just watch the toe for any redness or swelling which can be a sign of infection, in which case you may need to take her to the vet for some antibiotics. In the future, you can use flour in a pinch to stop minor bleeding like that. She should be just fine; it probably doesn't really bother her much at all -Megan

okay...
i checked on her this morn and she seems okay..it doesnt look red!it jst looked so sore though last night when it happened!

Don't worry too much about the nail. My gerbil Kinks lost one of his claws in a fight. Some weeks it grew back. But when it grew back it was staight without the natural curve in it. If that happens I recomend that you get it trimmed.
