Kandice, my little LCP Agouti, has some icky fur. She always smells really bad like pee. Even when I give her a sand bath every day. And when she's in the sand, she doesn't get so excited as everybody else, so I just sprinkle it on her, then she rolls to get it off. It's like she just has poor hygenics. Also, this is the one who appears to have vision problems. (possible connection??) It's sort of like she either just doesn't care to clean herself (which I rearly see her cleaning more than her hands and face) Or the other girls climb up on her butt and pee on her. This is a possiblity, but none of my other gerbils do it.

Yeah, the most submissive gerbil will often be peed on by all the rest, or even by just the most dominant one. If you want to change the situation you might have to take her out with just one buddy, or take out the most dominant one with a buddy of her own. It's a nuisance.

I added a pizza box lid as a divider, and put some play sand on the other side. Kandice is MUCH cleaner now! But she was pretty gross there for a while. Also, Sandy, thought you might be interested.... Kandice has little peachy colored spots all over her. it's hard to see in a picture. Maybe if you come to the states, I'll meet you some place on your next trip!

Actually I drove through Bellingham twice last week, but I was not about to convince Roger to stop to visit. You know guys, they gotta go, gotta go, gotta go! No stopping for visiting or sightseeing! Just get to that destination, and get there fast. Oy vey. Maybe some other time, eh?
