I'm really worried about my gerbil Jade. I think that she may be sick/dying. Shes hasn't really come out (of her nest) today and she hasn't touched her food bowl or gone to her upper level in her cage where her water is. I've left some millet and apple downstairs for her, but I don't know what else to do. Shes currently 2.5-3 years old.

Jade souns like she's getting older. You want to try and take a good look at her to see if she's showing any signs of illness. Does she feel cold to the touch? she may need some extra warmth, from your hands or maybe a heating pad set on "low" placed under her tank. You'll want to try to get ehr to eat something; you can try no-sugar-added applesauce or no-sugar-added peanut butter, baby food, or whatever else you can get her to eat (fruits, veggies, seeds, etc) And liek I recommend with mist sick gerbies, if you really think something is wrong, you should probably take her to the vet. If you can tell me anything more specific about how she's acting, I may be able to help you try to figure out whats going on, but from what you describe, right now she needs supporive care in the form of keeping her warm, hydrated, and fed. I hope she feels better soon! -Megan
