First it was Kess' nose, then Kali's nose, now Kess' eye!! I think someone scratched in the corner, but her fur is rather reddish around there and her eye is squinty. I hope she hasn't gone blind because of a certain gerbil *glares at Sienna and Kali* Anyway, I gave it a gentle bathing with lukewarm water and put her back in the cage - there's no aggression, so I'm guessing it may have been a spat or a playfight... all three do these a lot It should heal, yeah?

I would just keep a close eye on it (no pun intended!) Gerbils eye secretions are naturally a reddish color, so it probably isn't bleeding. I'd just watch and make sure she's behaving normally. If someone scratched her cornea, thats very painful and you should be able to tell that she isn't feeling well. If it doesn't seem to get better over the next few days, it's time to go to the vet.

This is typical! First time she got a bleeding nose right before a show, and now her eye goes all funny a week before I'm about to go on my three week hols to Australia!!!
