A while ago I got a nice pink eyed white male gerbil to pair with Smoke. (my nutmeg female) He is friendly, but like all new gerbils, still unsure about me and a little shy.
I put him in a split tank with Smoke, which wasn't the most escape proof thing, but I hadn't had a gerbil escape from it yet.
The first night, this is what he did:
- escaped
- ran under my door and into my brother's room
- woke up my brother
-ran into my parent's room
- woke up my parents
-ran back into my room when they tried to catch him.
I slept through the whole thing. (I'm a very heavy sleeper) I caught him in the morning, and made sure the lid was secure.
This is is what happend the next night:
I was sleeping, and dreaming that someone was tickling my face with a feather. I turned my face a little, I was half awake by that time. Then, the "feather" bit my chin.
I woke up very suddenly to see a white furball run and jump off my bed! It wasn't a hard bite at all, he probably just freaked out when I moved my head, and I was just laughing so hard at what had just happened.
I caught him again, and this time made sure he couldn't get out. He is now happily living with Smoke and better adjusted, no more escapes. ( Him and smoke are in my avatar picture right now) I named him Dash since he liked to dash across every room! It's certainly an adventure I'll remember for a long time!!!
