my little gerbil, Mospo, is sick. He's over 3 years old, but got sick very suddenly. he still runs around, but i just noticed tonight that his eyes are glued shut and he is drooling. what's wrong with him? please help, i love my little gerbil.

He may have a 'cold' or he may be more seriously ill. 3 is elderly and with age comes a range of possible illnesses and often a general deterioration, just like humans. It's worth seeing a vet and finding out whether its just an infection that can be treated with antibiotics, after all gerbils can live quite a long age. But do remember that despite the fact you will hear of 4, 5 or even 8 year old gerbils these are the exception and not the rule. Good luck and I hope your gerbil recovers to spend more time with you.

I agree with Doom. It's worth it to take this little guy to a vet to see what's going on. He may have an upper respiratory infection, or one of his organ systems may be failing due to his advanced age. I would take him to see a vet ASAP.
