I have a 15g going spare and considering getting 2 males for it, only 2 problems, the room they will be going in is a large walk in cuboard, only problems are there is on natral light and it gets very warm in the summer, I was wondering would there be a way of getting round these problems like, the tank has a hood with light fittings, and we could put a natral sunlight bulb in. The light will be on a timer so I could have it switched off at the hotest parts of the day ect. What is the hottest they can go up to??
We have also thought we could swap them over to the girls home, maybe every other month, so they could have time with humans around them, oviously would clean the cage. Would this be posable or would it be to unsettling for them.
thanks

No. They need some natural light everyday, and the temperature situation is not good. Can you put them anywhere else?

The ligth woudl be fine using a daylight bulb (although natural light is pleasanter) but the high temperatures are a big problem, gerbils do not like high temperatures. I have big problems this time of year with the undefloor heating (which is communal and not under our control) making the flat far too warm.

I'd be happyer with them in the bedroom, but my boyfriends not having any of it So I better tell him it's a NO GO. Then start getting rather perswasive. He'd better say yes to somewhere else as I spent all day sorting out the aquarium.
