My 4 year old gerbil, Milton has been acting lethargic lately. He is the one with an extremely large scent gland tumor and has had to have his teeth trimmed before. Now his teeth are broken at odd angles, and very loose and keep falling out. He has cardboard to chew on and I've been giving smaller seeds and softer foods for him to eat, but he doesn't seem to be doing well even with the help. Normally a well mannered gerbil, although not necessarily wanting to be held, now he is getting hand aggressive and withdrawn even from his cagemate. What do you advise?

aaww He dosn't sound like he's doing to well there Kim. Maybe take him to the vet's (I can't remember if u even have one out there or not) and have them check the mouth. Could he have an infection in his mouth? making it painful to even eat soft foods? What teeth is he now missing? Good luck with the little guy.
