After almost a year with knaw proof mesh I have just noticed that my gerbs have lost their clown faces and I am very pleased. I am surprised it took so long but they look much more beautiful now,

Bonnie is the corner digger out of our two She has so many other more interesting things to do in their tank - but no, she has to dig! She even digs in the corners of the playroom and thats 11' x 9' !!!!!! Caroline

As you probably know, I've recently increased their aspen to about 9" deep and they've made some wicked tunnels, and each morning the tank has changed slightly yet again - usually Bonnie making all the changes as Daisy is a bit lazy but she'll still be digging in the corners Daisy doesn't do it much at all, well to be honest she just digs at the flat glass only, not in the corners at all, and even then very rarely. It amazes me how they differ so much in their character and behaviour for such small creatures. They really are chalk and cheese in the character department! ;D Caroline

My gerbils used to dig in the corners but since I started using peat they find that much more interesting. Maybe they don't feel like they are actually digging in aspen.
