Hey, I have a poop question...
I have noticed one of my males poops are a light brown colour. He eats the same as the rest of my gerbils, who have normal dark brown/black poops. He is in a split cgae with his father who has normal looking poops.
Anyone have a reason for the change in colour?

Color of the food eaten. Burkie likes to eat lots of green things in her food, so her poop is sometimes a bit green.

As Ryan said, it's probably nothing to worry about If it gets runny or anything, then it may be time to worry lol Hahaha I just gave the gerbils some treats coloured red, green and orange without thinking!! Should be interesting if it comes out ...

Perhaps he's just picking out the bits he likes best! and therefore making his poops a different colour? Caroline

we're had light brown poops in this place... um, one dude was coming off a cold.... But i'd guess that like the horses we had, even perfectly healthy, their poop would be a little different sometimes... and even 2 or 3 toned. I'm sure that everything that poops is pretty much the same, and he probably is just picking out the bits he likes better. My girls (the one I force to eat their alfalfa pellets) tend to have lighter poops towards the end of their food dish. hum....
Funny..... Andrea made a thread about "poops" LOL Eric will LOVE this thread.... he'll roll on the floor with it! hehehheehehe!
