I have two-something months old girl that I got from the family with kids, so she was already used to being held a lot and was not frightened by hands. She sits very calmly for a long time in my hand, especially if I put my fingers arond to create a nest-like feeling. But eventually she makes her little fists like she's going to wash her face and starts nibbling her nails. She does not do any damage to herself, but it looks kinda obsessive, is this a trust sign or a stress sign?

If she sits very happily on you then I wouldn't say its stress, though if you have her out for a long time it might just be her way of saying "put me back!" or she might be hungry, looking for something to chew... I'm not sure but I wouldn't worry too much, she could also be chewing her nails as a kind of grooming thing, I'm sure I've seen my gerbils do similar before but I can't remember right now...

Is she alone or is there any other things that could be stressing her out?
