So I just wondered what colour ruby is. The breeder hadn't had a gerbil her colour before (and shes been breeding them for 10 years). She thought she might be a dove. She has, white around her neck so is possibly pied as,well? Her eyes are red(hence the name)

I'm not great with images and colours - but pale gerbils with ruby eyes are most likely a dove/light sapphire. And as it needs the ch gene, it is quite a 'rare' gerbil colour - usually associated with Siamese colours and/or Colourpoint breeders.
Spotted takes away the whole 'toenail' thing to help with colours - but if the hair is the same colour all the way from root to tip - I would say that Dove was most likely.
Did the breeder say what colour the parents and siblings were as this can really narrow things down for most gerbils?

I'm not sure what colour the parents are but I have her 2 sisters Topaz is a pied agouti and sapphire is a burmese. Ruby is very light grey but the tip of her tail is white as,well as,a white spot on her head and white around her neck. Hope that helps.

Yep my Clover is a dove and I would say this is too light to be sapphire The spotting also lightens the coat as well so that's why she is soo light.

That is brilliant. Its nice to know for sure what colour she is. The grey is very light hence it often makes her look white in photos even though she's grey.
