Simple question. Does Megazorb smell?
Thinking about switching to it after Ogedei’s nose is runny, maybe from bedding allergies. The rescue I got my pair uses Megazorb, but I’ve read that it smells. I keep my gerbils in my living room, so if it smelled weird, it would be an issue.

I use Megazorb and it does have a smell (a bit like wet socks and yoghurt). It varies from bag to bag. I don't find it too bad, even sitting next to the tank it doesn't bother me. The smell doesn't fill the room, and I have two gerbil tanks and one hamster cage filled with Megazorb in the same room. Some people find it really unbearable though.
EDIT: I've also heard that it smells really awful if it gets damp during storage, so if your bag arrives smelling unbearable, you might be able to return it.

I have a feeling it might remind me of the smell of the paper they use to fill Amazon boxes.
Yeah, I think I could be one of those who can’t stand it.

Thanks for this. I’ve been trying to figure out what it was. Ogedei’s nose was starting to clear up, so I decided to see once and for all if it was the Kaytee bedding. A few hours after putting some fresh Kaytee bedding, his nose was all red and crusty. So decided to do a full bedding clear out with the Small Pet Select stuff, and carefully monitoring them looking for signs of potential declanning.
So far, so good. His nose is definitely a lot less angry. Although you could tell the full bedding change stressed them out a little bit.
Thanks for the advice of the bedding. It appears to have done the trick.
All in all, I’m happy with the Small Pet Select bedding so far.
