Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a single gerbil that I rescued from a home that didn’t want him. He has been at my house for a year and is happy and well-adjusted, as he receives a lot of attention. Unfortunately, I have to be out of town for three weeks starting September 7. My son is unable to watch him this time and my only other choices are a friend who has two cats, or boarding him at a pet store where they will just stick him in a corner. In both cases, I am afraid he will either be lonely or scared. I am hoping to find a gerbil home in the Seattle Washington area that would be willing to board him for a fee. He is good-natured and social. Thank you Richard

Welcome to the forum, I hope you manage to sort things out. Maybe you have already? If you found suitable boarding, it would be useful to let people know here

I just hire a pet sitter and give them a key to my house and they come by once a day to refill water, food, do spot cleaning, etc.
I put 2 water bottles in the cage so if they bury one or it breaks, they don't have to wait 24 hours for the pet sitter to come and refill the water.
