I have had my (first) two males in a 75 gallon tank for 2 months. They have 12 inches of bedding, a 10 inch wheel, and constant access to food and water. My gerbils are pretty shy but not this shy.
Up till this week they’ve consistently come out around 5 PM than 6 or 7 PM and been up most of the night, as well as around 6 AM for a bit. The past 2 days (before yesterday-so Wednesday and Thursday) the cage didn’t change (they always rearrange stuff, put more bedding on the wheel, move around toys), but the water went down. Yesterday the cage setup was different. For the last week I haven’t seen either of them. I scatter feed, so it’s hard to tell if there eating, but the waters going down and there’s been small movements in the setup.
Should I go looking for them to make sure they’re alright?

That is a massive tank! They are lucky to have so much space.
Couldn't hurt to look for them. I'd be a little worried for sure not seeing mine for so long. Though they have a much smaller tank and not as many places to hide!
Hopefully it's not anything bad. Since they're still new, it could just be that they're still settling in and haven't decided on their schedule yet

I tapped n the glass a bit last night and only one of them poked his head out. Last night I can see they dug a bit. I still haven’t seen the other so I’m going to go searching for them later. Thank you.

Did you find them? And yea, nice size tank My boys are in a similar sized tank (if you mean US gallons), they are usually up and about from about 5-8pm as well as towards the end of the night. They switch around from digging underground, to chewing or running up top.
How old are your boys?

Is it getting colder? I have two females in a 75 gallon and they’re out a little less as the temperature drops where I’m at in the upper Midwest.

I have no idea there age-I adopted them and all I know is that they’re at least a year to a year and a half, maybe more. The temperature in their room has stayed the same (if anything gotten warmer, around 70F usually), but outside it’s snowing sometimes. Could that be affecting them?

I wouldn't have thought so, temperature and sunlight time is the main thing, that said, who knows!? Maybe gerbils see the snow, go brr, and dive back in again! Any gerbil owners here with frequent snow know?
