Okay, So I have two gerbils. Today my mom saw one of my gerbils out of their cage. Then, me and my mom both checked out their cage and their was a small hole that my gerbils could've went through. My mom and I then decided to search for my gerbils. We saw both of them running around my house, and it took quite a long time to catch them. After 30-20 minutes, we captured one gerbil with a towel and put him in the box. We then had to remove my top tanker from the cage and had to put the gerbil inside the 20 gallon cage full of bedding. 10 minutes later, we had captured the other gerbil with a towel and put in it the box and dumped him inside the cage. Now, I dont know what to do. I havent feed them today, and the cage they're in right now is full of bedding. I also dont know what they did outside their cage, and im scared they ate something on the floor. Also, they were stomping outside their cage before I had captured them. I dont know what to do, and I have a feeling they will die soon. Should I bring them back to the pet store?

Sounds like you've got them back, so you can calm down now , I expect it was a shock to find them out and about though! Gerbils stomping is quite normal, they do that when they're spooked by something, and seeing as they were outside of their normal home they were likely much more nervous! Why on earth do you think they will die soon? Because they chewed the carpet and might have swallowed some? Whilst it's not impossible, it's pretty unlikely as it's not tasty to them. But, to be sure, just keep an eye on them, if either of them suddenly become sluggish and tired, and doesn't eat, then take them to the vets. Why would you want to bring them back to the pet store?

Sounds like quite an adventure for two little gerbils, I'm sure they were very scared! Luckily you managed to bring them back to their house, which for them is a safe enviroment and where they are regulary fed.
If I were you, I would be checking carefully how to fix the hole or holes there could be. Was it on the wiremesh, wood or glass? And most importantly I would feed them. If they are a little bit like mine they should have a stash of food hidden somewhere, but still I would not go days without feeding them.
