Yesterday morning I noticed my gerbil clicking softly when breathing. Also, she was breathing rapidly. Obviously a respiratory infection. I took her right to the vet yesterday and got her antibiotics (azithromycin) and gave her meds yesterday and today so far. I have seen her eat and I have seen her show signs of activity in spurts. She is also resting a lot. How long is it likely going to take her to recover? The meds are for two weeks and then she has another appointment with her vet. I definitely caught this as soon as she showed symptoms. There was no delay in starting meds. I just want to form realistic expectations of how long her recovery may take.
Thank you very much in advance!

How is your gerbil today? That is good you got her in asap as that will help her. Depending how old your gerbil is and what is causing the RI but fingers crossed she will improve, as long as you see improvements, she is eating and drinking enough, she will have hope to get better.
