I'm sorry to hear this, especially at such a stressful time for you. It's so difficult when everything happens at once like that.

Have you tried a prescribed painkiller such as Metacam? It's also an anti-inflammatory and may help keep him comfortable for a bit longer. My vets have always been very happy to prescribe Metacam when I've asked about it.

Sorry to hear Luca's not doing so well atm, hopefully you can get some Metacam for him tomorrow so you can ease his pain.

Should he pass soon, perhaps you could squeeze in a little more time with Freddie should he feel lonely/down until you know what you're doing in the longer run?
It's possible that Freddie might not be too affected though should Luca pass!
