Starting,
We had a pair of gerbils and a trio of possible siblings, but recently one from our pair passed away and now we are trying to figure out the best possible solution to getting her a new friend.
Is introducing an older gerbil (One years old) to three younger (six months) likely to fail? If so, would it be easier to pair a baby with her, or another older gerbil? Generally I do a lot of research, but information fluctuates, so it's hard to know which is correct as this is my first time doing an introduction.
Saying that, I've read up on the split cage technique, but any further tips and advice would be appreciated! I only want what's best for her, and the sooner she has a new friend, the better!
Thanks, everyone!

Please don’t try and introduce in to an existing clan. Best bet is a young pup using split cage

Ditto, although pairing with another older gerbil should work too, the split intro would take longer.
