Okay, Skit has a reddish nose. I've read on here that a possibility could be a nose allergy. I've switched his bedding, and it hasn't gone away. I use a recycled paper bedding (can't remember the name). He doesn't seemed pained by it at all, but still, it hasn't gone away. I've read somewhere that gerbil mucus and tears are red. Is this true?
Second question: He's losing hair on his tail. It's not a lot, but hes been shedding like crazy. Is he molting, or is there something more serious happening?

It sounds like mites. You should check with a vet.

Gerbil mucus is indeed red. You can check his fur on mites. The tail can also be caused by overgrooming. A visit to a vet can help clear it up to you, because it is hard to be sure this way.
