I now have a strong bond with my smaller gerbil, Dixie. As I type right now, Dixie is cralling around on my sholders and around the front and back of my neck. Daisy is busy rolling around in the ball. Dixie has a strong bond of love with me. It's still taking a bit for Daisy to love me, but I still love her. I have got to go take Daisy out of the ball, it's been 30 min. Ecoa

Some gerbils like us more than others! But great that Dixie likes you so much!

Lucky you, both of my boys are still being rather anti-social, despite daily attempts at holding/talking/feeding them but I'll stick with it. I'm hoping that when we're able to get a play pen for them, it'll give us a better chance to handle them as at the moment I'm to frightened to take them out of the tank (apart from when I move them to clean the tank out!) as I know they'll run off never to be seen again. However this evening after much trying one of my gerbies finally winked back at me! ;D It's a start.

One of my gerbils, Slesse, an older black female, will curl up on chest in my hand and settle right down when I watch tv or am on the computer. She's seriously comfortable with me. Sweet!

I am so jealous!!! That is wonderful that you have a buddy (the other one is a buddy too - just in a different way! I have a question (again!) Is it possible to introduce different species of gerbils? Mine is a mongolian and would like to get a friend but do not think I can find another mongolian at the moment (very limited here on the island). Can I get a different gerbil type or will that create disaster?!! Janet

The island I live on is Bermuda (close when someone said England as it is a British colony It is located approximately 800 miles off the coast of the Carolina's in the US. Located on the map it will show a little itty bitty black dot in the ocean that looks like an errored ink mark - that's Bermuda Anyone visiting anytime please let me know!! ;D Janet
