i have had my gerbils for 2 weeks now, and i dont seem to be getting any further in making them more tame. They will come to my hand and grab a sunflower seed out of it and run off with it. I have tried to let them climb on my on the bed, but that didnt work either. Any other tips?

You can try doing it the way i did . put some sort of container in ther tank or cage and wait till they go in it whan they to cerfuly pick it up and slowly tip the container on its side and put your hand at the entrince try siting in a bath so that you will not be afried of them jummping off and losing. dont grab the gerbils if they start to run about . if you need any more help just ask

Hey craig, what i found most successful was bringing my gerbil around the house with me. Sometimes when I sit at my computer I just let the gerbil run around the desk and watch me do work. There's one male that i love to bring around, and he in turn became one of my friendliest gerbils. He jumps into my hands, climbs onto my shoulders & sometimes my head, and if he's tired he'll sleep in my hands. I think just a lot of interaction in any form should do. It would especially help if they were from a breeder, because if they are pet store gerbils then chances are they haven't had any or no human interaction at all. Just the idea of helping them become unafraid of your presence and especially your hands should be the key factor in taming your gerbils.
