Hello to all, I should have done an introd before posting, but could not help myself! My name is Kathy and I recently (on the 6th) adopted 3 breeding pairs. You can see pics and learn more about them here: www.freewebs.com/kansascitkennelWe are in Missouri, USA. Pair one: Bolt (male Sp Siamses) Perdita(female CP Slate) Pair Two: Cream Puff(male HC) and Cookie (female Mottled Black) Pair Three: Tag(male Grey Agouti) Sasparilla (female Sp CP Grey Agouti) They have all mated and are expecting pups around the 2nd of sepember. I know its kind of a best guess kind of thing. Yes, I know what I am getting into (for those who wonder) I am a retired breeder coming out of retirement. At one point I had about 100 gerbils. So I know what they require and all that. Not sure what else to say. . . I know I am going to hear it on what I am feeding them but if you keep it as a sugestion on what to add or take away I won't mind, get pushy and I won't be inclined to pay any attention to your post. I don't see that happening though, so far everyone seems to be very polite and I love that ;D Kathy

LOL, I did forget my questions huh? Yes I do have a bit of experience I have been involved with gerbils for roughly 12 years Ok here we go: 1) other than removing the wheel close to birth time and keeping it out until eyes are open is there anything els I should not have in the cage? 2) You can find a general list of my current mix on my website, what should I add or take away in your oppinion? 3) Any tips on getting better photos so people stop telling me my HC is not an HC just because his pic come out wierd? I think that is all for now and thanks for the warm welcome! Kathy

*bump* Okay I see you have unanswered questions so I'm bumping this thread to the top so people can see it. 1. Anything heavy, anything high that's climbable, too many toys for mom & dad .. those are some things you shouldn't have. People should add on some more if they know. 2. (Someone answer this one please) 3. Do you have a macro feature on your camera? On most cameras its icon will be a flower. This feature helps with close-ups and I use it everytime I take pics of my gerbils. Flash is also important, I find that flash helps make a picture clear even when the subject is on the move. More people should be able to give more tips and hints
