I'm thinking about putting up a flyer but I'm not exactly sure what to put on it. I will include things like "reserve a pair today" and a picture or pictures .. and I will mention that I will only sell single gerbils to people who have a lone gerbil. I will probably sell each pair for 14 bucks and singles for 7? Does that sound reasonable? The petstore around me sells them for 6.
Does anybody by chance happen to have an example flyer stored on their computer? And I mean files that are .doc, .pdf, .jpg, .psd, .gif, .rtf .. if so may I ask for the file? Or can someone even just describe an example of what should be on a flyer? Thanks in advance.

I haven't made one, but a few suggestions:
1. Add pro's about gerbils compared to other small animals and other pets in general. 2. Put in the cutest pictures you have.. hehe. 3. Have links to references online
;D

-Personally I'd sell the gerbils for lets say for example $7 for a single and perhaps $5-6 for each gerbil after that which they are keeping in the same cage so that people are more inclined to buy them in pairs. -Also underline the point that they NEED company so they aren't kept on their own. -Perhaps even say that you will help them intergrate their existing gerbil with a new one if they want help with it and mention this website for if they need help with their gerbils for any reason.
You are lucky that gerbils only cost $6 around you. Around me they cost £7 (about $14)

I have made flyers and put them up before. A few pointers i can give you are:
~ Arrange your pictures around your words so they draw attention to your writing. ~ Colorful title at the top. (Mainly i would put your kennel's name there.) ~ Add information about your gerbils and what colors you deal in. ~ DO Mention the American gerbil society, or club near you. Especially if you are in one. ~ If you do this make sure they know they DO NOT have to be a member of it to adopt from you. ~ Add your contact information. Name, webbie, e-mail or phone number. ~ Do NOT try to put them up at pet stores.. heh. they don't like it. ~ DO try vets offices, grooming supply stores, bulletin boards at random stores, etc.
That is all I can think of to offer you in advice! If you would like to see the way i set up my flyer you can e-mail me at Jumpgate@charter.net or IM me at CmeWinnit.

Thanks all for the pointers! I haven't made it yet since I have to decide where exactly I'm going to pin them up. One of the pet store owners around my area has given me permission to post (i love them!) They're very neat & knowledgeable about ALL their animals. However, they do not sell gerbils. If they did they would be the ones I get my gerbils from! The commercial pet store around me however .. bleh.
Thanks again
