This thread is the very first stickie on the board. It wasn't buried in archives. If you liked this sticky, you should check out the other boards. There are a few stickies in each one. We also have our FAQ board (just in case you've not seen that either)

The gerbils in the 8th picture with the wieghing dont quite look like gerbils. Why?

The ones in pictures #7 and #8 are one of the other gerbil species. Pallids, I think.

I've been reading around this site thoroughly over the last few weeks, reading most of the stickied threads and building up my knowledge on all the important subjects - housing, nutrition, handling, behaviour etc.
So today I thought I'd relax and read this "photo guide" to get some ideas on how to take good photos of my gerbils when they arrive ... But of course that's not what it's about! So, a suggestion, rename this thread to "care guide with photos" or something similar. I would have read it much sooner if I'd known and, as many others have said, actually seeing something rather than reading can be so helpful.
Thanks.

Agreed and done! I joined here over a year ago, and I have only just read it (hence the late reply) and realised what this thread is about! Lol.
