Wow, just now with all your recent pictures do I understand just how TINY these guy's are. Do we know if they are also illigal in Canada?
Have you had much luck re-homing your pups? or have you been keeping them all?

I dont think rehomign will be an issue I have one pair (who now have had two litters) promised to Eddie And a friend is collectign two tomorrow Another friend wants a pair but unfortunately I have slight problem in having too many females.
As for them being illegal, that isnt strictly true. What is illegal is importation of species from North Africa. With the proof that they are captive bred form Europe importation should be ok, but I would not recommend importing UK stock until we have doen some outcrossing, as the gene pool is presently very small and such imports would be expensive, so the chances are that outcrossing would be even more difficult for US breeders. With the low availability of these animals I doubt that any importer woudl be able to obtain them anyway.

lol@'we'
You sure are doing your part, by selling brothers and sisters as breeding pairs.
Why not do what ed did initially, set up 2 breeding lines.. and then you could offer relatives instead of brother and sister. I mean this sort of breeding is just going to drive dipodils to infertility, especially as you are approaching f5 and f6 and are still inbreeding. There is a reason people who have had them for years haven't reached f4's yet, it is because they are trying to outcross and backcross as much as possible.
You really should have done a backcross or something or the sort by now.
Whats the prob with having extra females? You are actually waiting for a male to be born from lines direct from your original pair to pair with these females?
You should offer females singly and then the new owner can source a male from the NGS members that have them.
Or you could hang on till you get distantly related blood yourself.
Just something to think about, I'm very fond of my dipodils and would like to think they are being bred as wisely as possible.

Exactly my plan My F3 male is to be bred to a granddaughter (the first grandaughter being a runt was unsuitable of course). The F4 pair who just produced two pups where going to Ed but as he didnt make Reading they stayed together. I will be checking with Ed if he still requires them. I'd hope for a less related male from him. Of course they will be seperated. One of the f4 males is with the female f3 from Kym. As she's the same age as my f3 female (or only slightly younger) I'm hoping for just the one litter . The original f4 pairing was to test for fertility (as advised by Ed btw). The original f3 female will hopefully stay with a daughter. 4 litters is quite enough don't you think? Hopefully other dipodil breeders will be looking for adults yes. I will be very pleased to hear from anyone (especially NGS) who is interested. No I will not be breeding f5s together. Any other suggestions gratefully received...coming from a totally non-pet family I am very aware I have a lot to learn about breeding and, of course, line breeding. As for the other friend who wants a pair, with inbreeding in mind I was hoping to try to find an 'unrelated' male for her. Obviously limited availability will not make this easy.

Well this litter mums been very protective of, so pictures have been few and far between. Still I try my best the blue egg is around the size of a hens egg (and does not stay in the tank) Daddy had to move out ...after mum sealed the divorce by amputating his tail I guess she feels 4 litters is enough! A pup from the last litter....female And last a pic of Cookie, the runt It's become apparent that Cookie had more wrong with her than just a small size and short tail...as can be seen her face is not symmetrical I had seen this but as she doesnt keep still its been hard to be sure or to make out how bad it was...
