Hey everyone,
I'm just curious! Which gerbil species do you all have and when do you like the most (see poll)?
And one other question: on which species would you like to see an information page on The Mongolian Gerbil Website?

OK, I've voted for the Mongolian gerbil, because I cannot without that species. However, recently I have purchased also some fat-tailed gerbils, and I really love them! I cannot be without them either. Probably because I have had Syrian (gold-)hamsters, and they are very similar in behaviour.
So the species that I have at this moment: Mongolian gerbil (Meriones unguiculatus), Fat-tailed gerbil (Pachyuromys duprasi).

I only have Mongolian gerbils at the moment. And they're my favorite!
I have had dwarf hamsters (Campbells, I think) before. They are cute in appearance, but I prefer gerbils!
I want to see information on any type of rodent! But that's asking too much! ;D I think concentrate on Mongolian gerbils first, then slowly extend to information on some other gerbil species. No preference on what other type of gerbil species...

Well, we have mongolian gerbils (now about 45 of them), 11 Sundevall's Jirds, 4 Fat-tailed Jirds and 2 Shaw's Jirds (and two jirds which don't have a specific breed ;D) Now, I'm so for duprasi but I don't like them so much anymore as they won't breed

That are a lot of species, I would like to have more of them! Only I don't have the room! I was affraid that my duprasi gerbils won't bred either! But luckely they start doing it when I changed males! They were living with a brother before and didn't breed! 1 female was already more than 0,5 year old and the other only some months! But luckely they breed now! Maybe they will breed when you will have a new female! And have you tried to place another male in the tank of a breeding pair! I've heard someone did that with a pair that didn't breed, and the male started immediatelly mating with the female, I think just to prevent that the "new" male would mate with his female! ;D

Long time no seeing, but ok, back again! Since a week I have 4 different kind of gerbilspecies. At this moment 47 Mongolian Gerbils and 10 pups 3 Fat tailed Gerbils 2 Bushy tailed gerbils ( peter, pluimstaart?) 5 Gerbillus gerbillus aegyptics. Espescially the last one is very exceptionel. For as far as I know I am the 2nd person in Holland who has this specie. It's a very social specie and also curious. As soon as I have picutres, I will place them.
