I wondered if anyone has any ideas about this. Last night my F3 female (the original dipodil feamle from Ed) was lying stretched out in the corner of her tank, her eyes where dull, she had no reflexes but was still breathing. I couldn't get water in her, nor any response except the occasional twitch of front limbs. I kept her warm and checked on her regularly but nothing changed so eventually I wrapped her a cloth and left her in a warm place while I got some sleep. This morning I expected a body but instead she's on her feet, took some water and is now eating. she seems a little weak but otherwise fine. Any ideas? Fit, stroke?

I'm going to go with a stroke. From what you have explained, I had the same thing happen with a 4 yr old mongolian year back.

This turned out to be a case of accidental poisoning. I'd bought a brand new bottle of cage disinfectant, the type you buy in P@H. Someone kindly put the remainder of the old into the new bottle but failed to screw the lid on fully. The bottle had been placed on the dipodils cage and had fallen over and leaked out and ended up in her bedding and food. When I removed her she must have been comatose but by this morning, in a clean pen and kept warm, she was on her way to recovery.
As I have pointed out before it is important to look for environmental factors as well as classic illnesses.. The disinfectant should never have been on top of the tank.
