We entered our cheesmans in their first show on saturday. Was pleased they behaved themselves no biting judge or trying to escape!!. One of them got a first in the Gerbillus class beating 2 pallids and his brother. and a second in the overall exotics, beating several jirds and pallids. ;D R8chs jird beat him to best Exotic! Well done R8ch ;D I wasn't expecting them to get anything but I was really releived that Jackie Roswell didn't end up with one of her head, as he misbehaved all the way there and all day by spending most of the day kicking woodshavings in everyones eyes and all over my car !!. We also did well with mongolians getting best siamese adult and under 20 weeks siamese, a first in unstandardised colour with our cp slate male. several sconds, thirds and a fourth. Andrea

Congratulations!! I see that you have done well!! So you must have beautiful gerbils!!! ;D
I didn't know that all gerbillus-species are judged together, and not for each species seperately! Or is that not always the case.
I know a gerbil breeder here in the Netherlands who has pallids, each time he wins! Echt time best pallid gerbil!
Do you visit shows a lot? And always participating?
I've never bin to a show with my gerbils. And now I don't breed with Mongolians for a while I will not be able, because duprasis cannot be judged here for now, but they are trying to get them recognised.
And R8ch, you too!! Congratulations! ;D

not sure how they are shown in the netherlands but the jirds have there seperate class, then gerbillus and those go into and overall exotic class (equivilant of best in show for the mongolians). its only recently they have started to seperate the exotic up into genus as there is less exotic shown than mongolians. I am proud of our gerbs and even if do say so myself they look great. but they do have great parentage - a male siamese bred by Eddie and a female burmese bred by Del (Etosha Stud). We are hoping to get a young breeding pair of honeys (one dark eyed and one red eyed) from Eddie later in the year so w can have another colour !! .. ;D so annoying that we are limited on space..
