Finally someone with duprasi gerbils too! ;D Yes, I have also searched for fat-tailed gerbils for more than a year! Until a Dutch gerbil breeder who knew I was searching contacted me that she had pups. After that I found another breeder for more (to prevent inbreeding )! They are indeed great pets, and due to a big Dutch gerbil forum they begin to become more and more popular among gerbil lovers here! Aren't there any adverts-sites for exotic animals or something in Nebraska? And where have you purchased your females than? Maybe he (or she) can tell you where you will be able to purchase some males! My both females have had both thier first litter now, and have I 9 newborn duprasi more! ;D

Yes. Here you can find 3 of them. I was hoping to breed but with these 3 it hasn't worked out. So, I might contact you Peter ;D but unfortunately we're situated in Finland.
I just was wondering when is the rodent festival kept?

Hmm Finland is indeed far away! The other side of Europe!
Do you mean the 10th Knagersfestijn? The Dutch Rodent Festival!
That will be at saterday June, 26th 2004. Adres: Nieuwe Markt 9/A 3771CB Barneveld The Netherlands.
The judges for gerbils will be Jacky Rosswell and Julian Barker from the UK (National Gerbil Society).

It's not the other side of Europe! ;D It's three weeks after Julian is coming to judge here, I would have hoped it was before... How can it be so difficult to get them But well, today I did get a new duprasi male There were 8 duprasi in the animal shop (from Denmark), all males so I had to pick one Now I would need females If you want to take a look at my duprasi (and other animals) you can go to www.crassus.has.it (duprasi can be found from "lemmikit" and under the heading duprasit The pages are in Finnish as I haven't had time to translate them.

Not the other side of Europe? ;D OK than, the other side of the European Union! The most north-east part! I will definatelly visit Finland once! I've already been in Norway and Sweden, and Finland is also on my list of European countries to visit! And that you have the euro too, is easy! Yes, I've read on the Gerbil Mailing List that Julian is coming to Finland! He will be here in the Netherlands at the "Knagerfestijn" too in June. This was his mail: Will he not be able to take a duprasi female for you with him when he will be in Finland again in May! I'm not sure if he has some! But good to hear that you have found a new male, and now lets hope that they will breed when you have found a female! I've also just visited your website! Great pics! Are your duprasi gerbils named: Riina, Lumi, Mysti, and Puhti?

I know the problem! I have also searched for over one year, because I was able to purchase some. A gerbilbreeder knew that I wanted some, and she had just some pups from her first pair! Now I have also had several pups, and have I 12 fat-tailed gerbils!!! OK, four of them will be sold, so next week I will have 8! They are really great! I love them. Here in the Netherlands it is not difficult anymore to purchase them, due to raising popularity caused by a large Dutch gerbil forum! More and more people have now fat-tailed gerbils here! But I've heard that it can be difficult in the US! I personally won't ship my gerbils! Maybe you can contact a gerbil society (American Gerbil Society), maybe they know a breeder in your neighbourhood! ( www.agsgerbils.org/)
