Yes, I'm so happy!!! ;D My oldest female fat-tailed gerbils has yesterday (tuesday) had her first pups! I was already wondering if they ever came!
They are doing well, and I have removed the male to give the femaler some rest. And the male, because the female is very territorial now, and doesn't allow the male near the nest!.
I first saw there was something different, because the male was fully awake during the day! Than I saw the female also awake and digging in their nesting box.....and than she kicked out one pup, and again one more! When she was finished with redecorating her house she brought the pups inside again! After some hours I checked the nesting box and saw 5 healthy pups! ;D
I shall post here some pictures as soon as possible, most likely next weekend!

I'm not sure, maybe one! If I could I would keep many gerbils and many species, but I don't have the room for it, sadly enough.

That is a great picture! Do their tails look any different from Mongolian gerbil pups right now? Or does the fat-tail develop with age?

No the tail is not very different at this moment! probably the tail will become more different when they grow more! It should stay short!
I want to take a picture of the pups as much as I can! And minimal each week, so that their growth and development can be seen.

My other female (Isis) has also 5 pups!! ;D But when I checked the litter of Sati (the first female that had pups), she had only 4 pups left in stead of 5. But the remaining ones seemed to be very healty!
I've made a picture of them, they very very cute! They were exacly one week old and had grey hairs on their back (only very short). And they had whiskers!! I shall post the picture here as soon as possible. ;D
