Hey. Now that we might have a forum cleanup, then I'd like to suggest few things. First; would it better that anyone do only one thred to gerbil pics/interviews and so on, so that there is not like 10 by one users every pet It also helps moderator, then its not so many threads to read. Second; focus to the subjects headline so that if someone has the same problem she/he can found it easily. This also helps to people sending the same questions again and again. Third; I'd like to say everyone Happy Christmas and christmas peace also in forum. Thanks

Hey. Second; focus to the subjects headline so that if someone has the same problem she/he can found it easily. This also helps to people sending the same questions again and again. I really agree with this. First, it's difficult to keep track of which discussion is in which thread, and second, it's difficult to find threads on certain topics. I also agree with this! One other thing RE: the forum clean-up poll... I'd like to choose "other" as a response. I think it's fine to get rid of some of the posts from 2004 and 2005 IF they're the type of thing that's been covered time and time again (like "what type of bedding do you use" or "how do I introduce two gerbils," topics that don't really add to the collection of knowledge on the board). It's more work for the moderators to weed through the useful and the useless, but I hate to see good information permenantly deleted into the ether. And this forum, as a whole, has a very good collection of information. Deleting old posts would really detract from that, I think. Perhaps there could be an archive of "greatest hits" or something? Like, keep posts with greater than 8 or 10 replies or something? I dunno...

As of right now, most of the mods have agreed we need to keep the information. Though, there probably will be a formal restriction on size of signatures and photos to make it friendlier for dial-up users.

Can't restrictions be set on the forum to auto re-size too large of images? On my other forums, photos are automatically reduced just on the forum when posted too large.. Helps alot with load time and so people can still retain their larger sized images, but not have to worry about bogging down other's load times when posting.. (I know many of my images are too large, but I'm used to the other forums' auto-resizing.. )

No that is not possible sadly. The photos posted here are not hosted or stored on the forum's server. Only the avatar image is automatically reduced. The rest is posted with the tags.

Only the avatar image is automatically reduced. The avatar itself might be reduce but the image is still the same size... I'm probably not explaining myself very well but if you're using firefox right click on the avatar image and then click 'view image' you'll see a picture of the persons avatar in full size and a lot of the time it's much large than the 100*100 limit. So if you ever notice somebody's avatar taking a long time to load it's probably because it's a large file/image.

That is indeed true!

As of right now, most of the mods have agreed we need to keep the information. . How about deleting those "pups born" and threads like that from years 2004 (or -05 too?) Also would be nice that we could do _one_ thread to that breeding pups -page. It's now a bit messed up because there are interviews and question mixed up. If we could have like the same way "member photos" to be like "member's litters" where all those "pups born" could be moved and breeding pups is clean only for questions that belongs there,eh?

Somtimes we go back to those pup threads and trace how our clans have developed. For instance I recently went back and found pics of Polly, my present pallid mum, as a pre-adult!! an archive of old threads might be useful though.

We could use something like Flickr and use a group account with lots of subfolders to do this - I would be interested to see and it would be more organised.

What you have to remember is that these things take time to do and Peter has already pointed out his time is limited.

Could we also think about that topic. Instead of puttin "what's wrong - then what - errr" topics like that, we could put clear topic so everyone could see what it's about. Can mods change the topic?
Also, what could we do to those 'underline pictures' ? Some has so big photo'lines' and mixes when reading a long topic.

I'm confused what you mean? Are you talking about sigs? I agree clear titles on threads are good though.
