Lots of threads I have already read are marked as having "new" messages. I noticed this a few weeks ago and went to *every* board and clicked "mark as read" so only actual new posts would be marked "new." It was ok for a while, but read threads are being marked "new" again. I only use one computer to read the forum, so my cookies should be current. Is this happening to anyone else?

Sometimes I'm getting that too. Also, the moderator 'Announcement' board always shows 'new' for me, even though everything on there has been read. It's been showing new for the past week or so.

Yeah I've noticed it as well, I haven't been checking the board that regularly, just once in the evening but every time I check threads I know I've already read keep saying they're 'new' .

You can mark all forums "read" by clicking on the button in the bottom right of the main forum page.

Ryan - I've gone thru and done that on each board. But then when you come back in, there will be threads marked as new again that don't have any new postings. And for me, that moderator 'announcement' board always says new.

I think Peter has specifically triggered that one to stay as 'new' so that people will always notice it because of it's importance Caroline

Ryan - I'm using Internet Explorer... 'Try clearing your cache'??... Explain that to me like you would if you were explaining it to a 5 year old 'cause I'm clueless..

I'm using Opera, and I noticed the problem a few days back but thought it was just my computer. And since noticing the problem, I've run CCleaner twice; same problem still.

Hmm, I don't have that problem. Only when I click on "Last post" in the right of each board on the start page, the board will stay saying "new". Not when I go there by just entering that board and reading the thread. I shall ask Proboards if they have an explanation....

Hmm. I haven't had this problem lately, so if you've done something, Peter, I guess it worked! Thanks for checking into this.

I've done nothing! But I'm glad the problem ended for you. Maybe it was a temporally error or something.

Heh. As soon as I wrote that, it happened again! It's not a big problem, though, and as the support forum said, maybe sometimes the read list just clears. Oh, well! Tracy
