I wanted to post some pics of my two gerbils, but the only thing i get is a white box with a red cross in it. I host my pics at photobucket. I have there several albums and some of them are public and some of them are private. I tried both of them but the results are the same... i know how to place a picture... but this time not

How do i place my pics here on the forum???

To place here a picture, you have to upload your picture onto the internet! It is not possible to upload pictures directly to the forum. For example on your own domain or on a photo storage site, like www.photobucket.com (free).

After that you have to start a thread or reply to a message! There you can click on [image] to insert an image. It is an Add Tag. You have to put the URL (internet address) of the picture between the following tags: and [ /img].

Than your picture should be visible on the forum!

NOTE, some photo storage websites don't support direct linking!

I've read that article,

well thats the problem, i have several accounts with photobucket and none of my pics will work here... i'm a member on more boards and i have no problem there posting the pics. Just this one. When i put a link in here from photobucket he will give it a white box with a red cross in it.

I will take a look around for another upload (maybe imageshack), perhaps that will work.

There's a slightly longer way to post pictures as well, but it works for any host.

1. Get to wherever the largest version of the desired picture is.
2. Right-click on the picture and choose "View Image". This will take you to a page with just the picture (no text, logos, etc.).
3. Copy the URL of that page, and paste it between the image tags on your forum post.
example: [ img] http :// example . com [ / img ] (without any spaces)

Ok... i have given up photobucket. The horrors!!

I use imageshack now... btw pictures already posted ;D
