there's a pet show at Grazeley Village Hall on June 18th, I've showed my cavies there before and am thinking of entering some of my gerbils this time. just need to ask a couple of questions :
If I'm showing all 3 boys that live together can I show them in the same carry-case or do they need to be seperated?
The show is about an hour and a half from me, will they be okay in their carry-tanks for most of the day as long as I provide food and water?
What classes do my gerbills fall into? I'll list them again: 2 sandy coloured agoutis with white bellies (greg and bingo) 1 slate/grey (leo) 1 pied slate/grey (cole) 1 nutmeg/sandy (meeko) 1 black (white tip under nose) (batley) 1 pied black (badger)
if anyone could help me that would be super!!

Just a wee word of caution for you naomi. If you have to show your gerbils seperately, I would`nt risk it. There will be a chance of de-clanning. Try and keep them together to avoid this. I witnessed this just recently with my gerbil who was ill and his cagemate was barely seperated from his brother on and off and just would`nt accept Grub again and I was mortified to witness it. As you know, wee Dibble passed away, but had he survived, I would have had to buy another glass tank to accomodate him as they had de-clanned in only a matter of a few hours. I wish I could attend the show, but I`m stuck in Scotland! best of luck with your cavies though!

Max I was worried about exactly that - I'm either going to show them together or not at all, not only do I not have enough tanks but I can't risk them fighting on return to their home. Plus they would get lonely which I couldn't bear - thanks for your words, I know you're right

Hi Naomi. You know what your doing anyway so I don`t have to add the obvious! I`d love to attend a good gerbil or small pet show, but there are never any in my area. I keep gerbils & mice as pets only. I don`t breed or show at all. I`m hoping to get some show class mice in the future at some point and house them in my very large Ferplast Jenny rat cage! Mouse heaven you might think! The cage has 1cm bar spacing which is mouse safe. I have four pet standard mice right now, three black & tans and a pink eyed albino. I adore PEW (pink eyed white) mice the best! The show standard mice are twice as big as a pet mouse and have larger ears!
