Hello, As promised, I would give you all pictures of my new creative Food dish idea!! I went to WalMart and bought 2 packages of condiment cups (3 in a pack) for $1.97 then went in to the craft section and got the suction cups with the hook for hanging things on windows. I (well of course my husbnad did it) drilled a hole and put the hook through the hole and the cup on the hook. I put it on the tank up high and put a platform underneath it! ;D I now can see how much food they have eaten easily and they can not bury it with the bedding!!!! Wow it's sooooo easy now. I was worried about them chewing on the suction cup but only honeymunch did. When he did this, I gently blew on him and said "NO" after several times, he got bored and stopped!! Here is the picture of the cup and hook: and here is a picture of Bear sitting next to her new food dish:

Very cool! Aren't you lucky to have a hubby who will make you stuff ;D. My partner actually created the setup for the cages on top of my tanks. I now put their dishes on the second level and secure them to the side of the cage with tape. I love tape .

He is very crafty !! He has warmed up to the little guys. I had tape on the side of the wire on top of the tank. It is all falling off and I need to put wood on it now. It is nice to have partners that help out instead of resist!! I also had cages on the top of mine, but I am tired of cleaning out the adjoining tubes and mess. I am going to all tanks!! Amazing what one can do when one shifts resources around .

ha that looks cool.
I thought about doing something like that before.. But the suction cups just make it hang there and one of my boys who is a pain..would dig under it and bang it against the tank. He used to do that with the waterbottle.
Plus the way the the dish hangs..they'd just kick the food out of it and that would annoy me. lol.
I use velcro for everything now. ;D

I used a coffee mug for mine. Initially as something unedible to play in. It's worked quite nicely

J, Mine don't knock it around (that I notice anyways) and they can't cover it with bedding which is a plus. I find that they seldom kick out the food. This week it is working!! I hope it lasts for a while because I have tried many things.
Ishido, A coffee mug> Now why didn't I think of that. I was looking around the house for hours one day trying to get creative and use some thing I already had instead of buying more stuff that may or may not work!! I will definitely keep it in mind if the gerbils decide that they don't like it any more.
