I've been missing being able to watch my gerbils sleep since i moved them completely into the terrarium. The critter trail had a nice transparent part where you could see 'em sleep. I decided I wanted the same thing in the terrarium, but most wooden hideaways aren't accessible. I turned the hideaway on it's side and put the open bottom against the glass. This essentially created a see-thru glass wall. I can now watch them sleep like before just an idea,...

What I did, was I got one of those little coloured huts and put it under a bunch of bedding and put that against the clear wall. They made a little tunnel to it and I can see them sleep.

I agree, it is difficult to watch them sleep. They are so cute when they snuggle up together. I tried the same thing when I put mine into tanks and they just kicked the bedding near the glass so I could not see anyway. I will give them thier privacy and enjoy the time I have when they are up. Sweetie and Blackie were moved into a tank recently and they are slightly aggitated (the girls are more resistant to change! ). They burried the water bottle and the food dish. Sweetie has been running back and forth and then burrowing.
