My colourpoint golden agouti gerbils had become 5 pups (2 are already dead), One of them (a male) is the same colour as the parents. Bur the other four..... they are white with ruby eyes... This is the information I know from their background is the following: Parents: both golden agouti Brothers and sisters: black, golden agouti, schimmel, colourpoint schimmel A picture, the one looking like his parents is in the right at the bottom:

Where do the red eyes come from! Was it the first time that they appeared in litters from those two? Than they need to have both Pp! Are their living some older sons with the other? Maybe the mother has mated with a son!
I had once a breeding pair that had always only golden agouti, but at some moment they started to have black, dark eyed honeys, nutmegs! The only solution was that mother had mated with her son (that were living with them)!
Can it be that this happened with you too, or not?

Nope, these two are brother and sister (it was a little mistake, Lady and Snuffel belongend to my brother-in-law, and suddenly the had become puppys). But this is the first litter of those two... Lady and Snuffel were born in May 2003, so they are almost a year old... Mum and Dad weren't related to each other...
Some people said that it could be Himalayen or that the parents (Lady and Snuffel) might be light cp golden agouti. So it also could be colourpoint ivory cream perhaps?

If they are Himalayans, than you will see that in some time, when their tail will darken! I don't have colourpoints, so I won't know if the parents are light cp golden agouti! A cp Ivory cream will indeed also be white I think, but than they should have also gg!
If I look at the brothers and sisters (you meant of the parents I think, isn't it?) it looks like they have some recessive colourgenes in their DNA! So maybe they have more!
Maybe you can tell more when you have a second litter!
BTW, can you tell if the pups are Ruby Eyed Whites or Pink Eyed Whites? Or are they still too young!
