Maybe some of you guys remember why I joined this forum this summer-- I discovered that one of my supposed boy gerbils was a girl. Ever since then I've been worried that the girl could possibly be pregnant, because I have no idea how old they were when I found out. Now, since I got this new dryer hose, they've been sleeping in it and I can never see in there, so I keep thinking "oh my god, what if new strange gerbils emerge from that pipe some day?!?!" Anyway!-- to get to the point, if these extremely hypothetical and almost certainly nonexistant gerbils did come crawling out of the dryer hose in the middle of the night, what color would they be? (you see the kind of thing that keeps me up at night...) I've got one black gerbil and one gerbil that is either argente golden or creme. Thanks for humoring a silly question.... though I do wish Nees would come out of that pipe and tell me there's no babies in there.

If you did have babies, some would be agouti (or even all of them if neither gerbil carries recessives). You might also get argente goldens, black and lilac. Possibly other colours, but most likely the ones I listed.

Ha ha, don't know a thing about colours but just to scare you more, your scenario of suddenly seeing babies emerge one day is just what's happened to me! Except in my case it was an underground burrow inside a storage box rather than a drainage pipe. Didn't know they were there at all, then hey presto I have two and a half week old babies crawling around.

that's right sweetie. There's one agouti and two white, they are a little older than I thought initially. I feel such a bad mum for not knowing they were there No pics yet, something's up with my camera.
