Okay, I have these two gerbil pups - and I should really post pictures of them all! But anyway. There are a lot of color possiblities with the two parents: Mother, lilac: aa CC Ee GG pp Father, Agouti: Aa Cc[chm] Ee G- Pp So I can tell the color of the other pups so far, but I'm having trouble with these two! I'm thinking that one is yellow fox and the other is argente golden, but I'm not sure. One pup looks almost exactly like a DEH, just with red eyes, whereas the other one seems a bit more grey, and the line where the fur changes to white occurs much lower and less around the face. I'm also curious as to whether either of them have the c[chm] gene. Here are the pics! Thanks in advance for any help! ;D ;D

I agree with your guesses of argente golden and yellow fox. As for whether they carry Cchm, I wouldn't be able to tell unless you had the colours side-by-side . Hopefully once you have a few litters, you will get argente golden and cream in the same litter. That was the only way I was able to determine which of my gerbs were burmese or cp slate . After that first litter, I then knew what to expect.

Offhand, I'd say that was an Argente Cream/Topaz. Hard to tell with the flash, though.

I would also say probably a argente golden, argente cream or topaz! Difficult to tell for sure this way!

To help, here is a picture I took of my darkest ever Dutch Pied Argente Golden, right next to the lightest ever Spotted Argente Cream (they were not from the same litter): As you can see, in this case there was very little dilution of the coat colour in the Pied Ar. G. and a lot of dilution in the very slightly spotted Arg. Cm. Go figure. I did keep the little Dutch Pied guy because his colour was so intense.

Well, those were the best pictures I could get - those little guys wiggle! I can say, and I don't know if this helps, that the argente golden/topaz coat color seems faded compared to the yellow fox and the DEH, but since these are the first gerbils of this color I've owned, I don't know if that's normal or not!
