Is it normal for a young lilac to be darker than an adult lilac? I know for sure that the adult doesn't carry c[h] or c[chm], but her son, about 6 weeks old, is definitely a shade darker. Obviously, I realize a picture would help.. I'll try to get one on here to show the difference.

Yes, there is quite a bit of natural variation in shades of Lilac, as I've found out! The same goes with Argente. Some are deeper, bluer, beiger, etc. And yes, the shades change as they age, and also through the year as they go through the molts. I find it quite interesting.
