My computer is not good with picture viewing so I do not know the colors very well....If someone could explain it to me, or tell me my gerbils colors that would be great. Thanks, [glow=red,2,300]PiffTheGerbL[/glow]

Hi Piff, beautiful gerbils , this site www.agsgerbils.org/Color_Strip/index.html has pictures of different different coat colorings at different stages in a gerbils growth, from pups the same age as your pictures, to eyes just barely open, first molt, and adult for every color. looks like the top pup is Honey Cream (AKA: light pied dark eyed honey) as is the third pic. Second pup looks a little light to be a golden agouti, maybe a dark eyed honey (DEH) if he has a white belly, he really looks argente or yellow fox colored but would have to have red eyes for that. Bottom looks like a pied black gerb. The different markings gerbils can have are spotted, pied or mottled. Spotted gerbils usually just have a head spot, or head spot and partial color with a white tail tip. Pied gerbils have a full collar, head spot, white tail tip, and often a blaze(your pied black has a perfect blaze) or partial blaze between the eyes, and sometimes white markings on their backsides. Gerbils with mottled markings have extensive white patches, or lines on their back side, white bellies, white tail tip, head spot, full thick collar. This site www.gerbilbreeding.com/gene.htm has info on gerbil breeding, and genetics behind coat colors if you're interested. Peter's site, has a lot of great info to and a coat color page www.petermaas.nl/gerbils/english.htm, and then the color palette if you want more refrence, lol, home.wtal.de/ehr/gerbils/colors.htmIs that your breeding pair? They're gorgeous, the pups are really cute, and the honey cream looks like it has nice markings:). When were they born? ;D

Looks like:
Pied Dark Eyed Honey (don't know if it is light or not because the spotting gene lightens DEH extensively) [genes A*C*eeDDG*P* Spsp]
Dark Eyed Honey [A*C*eeDDG*P*]
Spotted Dark Eyed Honey (again, don't know if it is light because of the spotting present) [A*C*eeDDG*P* Spsp]
Collared and Striped Pied Black [aaC*E*DDG*P* Spsp]
Verrrry pretty gerbils! Lucky you!

Do you think the brown pup could turn out to be a nutmeg? This is my favorite color. Thanks, [glow=red,2,300]PiffTheGerbL[/glow]

Possibly. Check the fur on its belly. If it's the same color as the fur on its back or just slightly lighter, it's a nutmeg. If the belly fur is white, it's a DEH.
I agree with Sandy--looks like a DEH to me, too.
